Okay - I finally took my first pic. It was sort of stressful. As I was about to snap the first shot of the day (I took at least fifteen pictures) I almost couldn’t do it. I was frozen in place! And then I thought, why am I frozen? I am not even doing this for any real reason but to challenge myself.

The one main thing that went wrong is that the flash kept going off. The sun was in the process of setting so the lighting wasn’t all that good. There are a lot of buttons with symbols. The first one that I pressed was for red eye. The next was for macro (what the heck does that mean?). The next was my last choice and then the flash stopped going off. But by then, I seemed to have needed it. At least I know how to do it.

The end result? The pictures are fine. Not great. Not awful. Just fine. I found one that was interesting enough to display on flickr. I call it Flower in My Yard. Not a great name, I know - but that’s what it is. In fact, since I haven’t bothered to crop or make it look pretty yet, you can see the mulch and the fence if you look closely enough.
