As you probably noticed, my “photo a day” project didn’t work out. But, I’ve taken a ton of pictures. I’ll upload them to flickr so you can see what I’ve done, where I’ve been. In a way, my goal was nearly doomed to failure. There were too many rules, too much pressure. Where’s the creativity in that?
But I have learned some things.
- I really, really like photography. Perhaps I have a new hobby!
- Perhaps I need a new camera.
- I accidentally discovered a novel type of photography, on a whim at a bar. You’ll see.
- Creativity can’t be forced.
- There are more creative things I like and will try to do something each day.
So, the Challenge is gone - but my photography isn’t. Neither is my creativity. In fact, I learned that it is important to have a creative hobby in addition to my creative profession of being a writer. For one thing, it gives me something to write about. For another, it’s very mind expanding.
